Zhejiang is one of the best known tea-producing provinces in China and home to some world-famous sorts of green tea. According to historical sources, tea was first cultivated in this region as far back as the days of the Han dynasty (206 BC – 220 AC). Gao Shan Yun Wu is a tea of a so called pan fried green tea category, shaped in elongated strips. This tea is produced using young buds and two or three delicate leaves. During processing raw tea leaves undergo high-temperature firing, curling and then three consecutive stages of drying (weathering). The Gao Shan Yun Wu’s dainty leaves are tightly twisted in the shape of fine curving strips with pointed tips, their glossy surface succulent-green with subtle patches of silver. The translucent yellow-green liquor is recognized for its delicate and long-lasting aroma and rich fresh flavor.
