20-Year Old Palatial Pu’er

Pu’er has been produced in Yunnan Province, the homeland of tea tree, for many years and has been taking up a special place in the Chinese tea classification. During Pu’er production a specific procedure of soaking and yellowing of raw leaves is used. This is the key stage to shaping this particular kind of tea. Pu’er teas differ not only in sorts of tea, but also in the length of their aging. Aged Gong Ting Pu Er teas can cost as much as vintage wines. Strong, compact and tightly curved leaves open up during brewing and yield a rich dark-red infusion with a mature aged aroma, which carries a complex bouquet of fragrances as well as floral and fruity notes. The tea’s pure mild taste leaves a pleasant slightly sweet aftertaste.
