Anhui province is one of the main tea growing provinces in China. The type of soil here and climate are ideally suitable for tea plant cultivation. Anhui is especially famous for its green teas. The kinds of the plants here differ due to its strong, thick tips and rather big leaves.

A famous Yin Hao tea first was produced in Anhui province in the time of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), and in the time of the Quing Dynasty (1636-1911) people started to give it as a present to the Emperor's court. The name of the Xin An Yin Hao tea in translation means Silver Fibres from the Benches of the Hsingan River. The gardens are located in the upper reaches of the Hsingan river in Xuning county. The Hsingan river which got its name Road of Poets is famous for its incredibly beautiful mountainous landscapes and cool clean water.

In 2001 Xin An Yin Hao entered the top ten of the famous teas from the Huangshan mountains and got a silver medal at an international tea competition. In 2002 it got a golden medal at All-China Contest of Famous Teas.
